Surgical Pathology Department – Dr. Daneshbod Pathobiology Laboratory, Shiraz

The Surgical Pathology Department of Dr. Daneshbod Pathobiology Laboratory utilizes up‑to‑date medical knowledge, the collaboration of experienced pathologists and faculty members from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, and the scientific supervision of  Professor Dr. Khosrow Daneshbod (founder of the laboratory with more than 40 years of specialized experience in pathology). It is considered one of the most advanced and reputable pathology diagnostic centers in southern Iran.

This laboratory was also the first private (non‑university) laboratory to establish and implement advanced pathology and molecular genetic techniques such as FISH (Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization) and IHC (Immunohistochemistry). It was also among the first laboratories to perform ultrasound‑guided FNA (Fine Needle Aspiration) and fluorescence studies.

With a strong focus on accurate, rapid, and evidence‑based diagnosis, this department plays a crucial role in the early detection of diseases, particularly malignancies (cancers), precancerous lesions, and benign conditions, and assists physicians in selecting the most appropriate treatment strategies.

Specialized Pathology Team

Services in this department are provided by a highly specialized and experienced team including:

  • Dr. Yahya Daneshbod (Fellowship in Molecular Pathology)
  • Dr. Sadat Nouri (Fellowship in Molecular Pathology and Cytogenetics)
  • Dr. Masoud Hosseinzadeh (Fellowship in Cytopathology)
